About Me

Jim Norton is Professor Emeritus of Biostatistics, Carolinas HealthCare System. He was the Director of Biostatistics at the Carolinas Medical Center for 26 years where he helped design and analyze medical studies. Additionally, he taught an annual short course in biostatistics to faculty and residents at the hospital. Norton also taught introductory biostatistics to undergraduates for over 20 years, the majority of the time at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

He has been a statistical consultant to medical and educational institutions, NIH, DOD and pharmaceutical firms. He has been a consultant or expert witness on eight legal cases, including six criminal cases involving forensic evidence. He is available for consulting or guest lecturing.
